2025 ACDelco Tech Challenge - October 2025
Last month we asked this Tech question and invited you to share your answer. We value your expertise and want to thank everyone who participated!

Question:
Why do some communication network protocols use termination resistors?

Answer: Termination resistors place a small load on the bus circuits to reduce bus signal echoes that can cause unwanted signals or noise.  Buses that use termination resistors have two resistors, one at each end of the bus.  They could be in a control module or a standalone component in the harness itself.  Most termination resistors have a resistance of 120 ohms.
