2024 ACDelco Tech Challenge - December 2024

Last month we asked this Tech question and invited you to share your answer. We value your expertise and want to thank everyone who participated!

A technician is performing a voltage drop on the ground side of a circuit. The meter measures 0.0V. What does this indicate?

ANSWER: No current flow.
The voltage displayed during a voltage drop test is the amount of voltage it took to push current through a circuit. A normal measurement during this test should be no more than 300mV on the positive or ground side of a circuit. If the meter displays 0.0V this indicates there is no current flow in this portion of the circuit.
