2012 ACDelco Exclusively Yours Reward Card for TSS Member – Renewal Details

We are currently renewing all active Exclusively Yours Rewards Cards.  There is currently a pause in spending until the third week in November.  Ensure you watch for your new BLUE EY card coming in the next two weeks.

All Exclusively Yours Rewards cards will be expiring on 12/31/2012.  All ACTIVE cardholders will be receiving a NEW ACDelco exclusively yours® Visa® Prepaid card.  This new card can be used at the same high quality merchants as you currently enjoy with your ACDelco exclusively yours card.  The program itself has not changed, however we are sending a new BLUE Exclusively Yours card to replace the expiring card.

  • Starting November 5, 2012, there will be a pause in card spending, during which time any existing ACDelco exclusively yours card will decline while existing card balances are transferred to the new Exclusively Yours Rewards cards.
  • You can resume spending once you receive and activate the new exclusively yours card on or around November 22, 2012.  At this time please destroy your existing American Express-branded exclusively yours card.

EY Renewal FAQs

Will I be able to spend the points balance that was left on my old now expired Blue Exclusively Yours® card after I get my new card?

Yes. When you receive the new blue card, any remaining balance from the older/expired card will have been transferred to the new card.

Why can’t I use my card while balances are being transferred?

A pause in spending ensures that all available balances transfer smoothly.Merchants are allowed up to 30 days beyond the purchase date to settle a transaction. Because of this delay, card use during that timeframe could interfere with the process of transferring balances between cards.

Will cards be declined if purchases are attempted during the balance transfer period?

Yes. If you attempt to make purchases after the “Pause Spending” date listed on the letter attached to your email message, the card will be declined.

What should I do if I want to return a purchase made with the old Exclusively Yours card that has been replaced with the new card? You should request a refund or store credit from the merchant when they are making a return. If additional assistance is needed, you may call the number on the back of the card.

What if my card is lost or stolen before deactivation?

If this happens, you should still call the appropriate customer service number. This number appears on the back of every card, and we recommend that you keep this information in a second location as well, in the event that your card is lost or stolen.

Will I be able to use the old Exclusively Yours blue (AMEX-branded) card for online purchases after the “Pause Spending” date?

No. Once you reach the “Pause Spending” date, your card will be declined when you make any purchase attempt.  It has officially expired and been replaced.

What should I do with the old Exclusively Yours AMEX-branded card once the new card arrives and is activated?

At this time, you will need to destroy your old card.

2012 ACDelco TSS/ACE Trade Show/Expo - January 19, 2012

The 2012 ACDelco Program Member Expo was a huge success! There were hundreds of program members in attendance, taking advantage of this great opportunity to check out what ACDelco is planning for 2012, having the chance to meet the ACDelco team, and getting to ask any questions that they may have regarding specific product lines or program details.

We had a ton of great giveaway prizes, including a $500 ACDelco parts certificate. All the displays looked great, and gave the attendees a chance to have a look at some sample products, and ask specific questions.

Take a look at some of the pictures below.

ACDelco Batteries, SmartWax Cleaning Products and the various ACDelco Training course offerings.

How it Works: Spark Plugs
Early spark plug designs were developed in the late 1800s, while the basic design of spark plugs used in today’s vehicles dates back to about 1902—and has changed little during those 110 years.

The Basics—the spark plugs in your vehicle’s gasoline engine (diesel engines don’t have spark plugs) are essentially high-voltage conductors used to create tiny bolts of electricity— up to 40,000 volts or more—to ignite the air/fuel mixture inside each cylinder. when energized by an ignition coil, the electricity arcs across a gap at the bottom of the plug, much like lightning arcing to the ground.

Cool Facts—the basic construction of a spark plug is fairly simple—essentially an insulated electrode—but it withstands tremendous heat and pressure. with the engine turning at only 1000 rpm, each spark plug fires its jolt of electricity 250 times per minute. and if you’re on the highway, with the engine humming at 2500 rpm, each plug fires 625 times per minute! that’s 2,500 spark events per minute in a four-cylinder engine and 5,000 in a V-8. that’s a lot of little lightning bolts!

You Need to Know—all the heat and pressure spark plugs are subjected to take their toll, and they eventually lose some of the capability to generate the same hot bolt of electricity as when they were new. that can result in a loss of power and reduced fuel mileage. other engine problems can affect the plugs’ performance, too. so, if your vehicle has higher mileage, have the spark plugs inspected and possibly replaced.

The Power of Thank You

By Jessica Johnson at MNG Marketing

Everyone loves to feel appreciated. It’s not surprising that saying a simple “Thank You” goes a long way in business, but perhaps what some do not realize is that it’s far more than just the display of gratitude towards your customers. Thank You communications are vital to your marketing plan.

In addition to building customer loyalty, Thank You notes are:

  • A great way to get your customers to post positive reviews
  • A proven way to bring customers back in for unperformed services
  • Generate a follow up appointment – often on a second vehicle

There is no better way to build loyalty than by showing your customers that you appreciate their business, and MechanicNet is pleased to announce four new postcard images to give you more ways to say “Thank You”.

Want to learn more about MechanicNet and how you can send out thank you communications?  Call us at 1-877-632-4638 or email us at sales@mechanicnet.com.

Talk the Talk

If you’ve ever been tongue-tied with your technician when trying to describe a car problem, you probably wished you knew the language he or she uses in the shop every day. No problem. Below is a list of common conditions and problem descriptions you can use when you drop off your car. We even suggest carrying this list in your car as a convenient cheat sheet when your car starts making that clanging noise you just don’t know how to describe.

• Rough idle—The engine runs unevenly at idle and the vehicle may also shake.

• Sluggish —With this condition, the engine delivers limited power under load or at high speed; it won’t accelerate as fast as normal; it loses too much speed going up hills and may have less speed than normal.

• Spongy—The engine has less-than-anticipated response to increased throttle opening (stepping on the gas); there is little or no increase in speed when the accelerator is pushed, although continuing to push the pedal down will finally give an increase in speed.

• Stall—The engine stops running or dies. This may occur at idle or while driving.

• Surge—The vehicle speeds up and slows down with no change on the accelerator pedal. This can occur at any speed.

Past Real Rewards Cardholders

If you received a Real Rewards AMEX card over the last two years and have a balance your card is expiring and will be replaced. With the replacement, ACDelco is pleased to announce that ACDelco Real Rewards will soon be transitioning from the American Express card to the more widely accepted VISA pre-paid card. There will be a brief transition period while we move any active balances from the AMEX card to the new Universal VISA prepaid card. This new card can be used anywhere VISA cards are accepted. The transition period will take place as follows:

  • Continue normal purchases with existing ACDelco Real Reward AMEX card until February 12th, 2012
  • Pause in card spending will begin February 12th, 2012, and continue until February 23th, 2012 while existing card balances are transferred to new ACDelco Real Reward VISA cards
  • Once you have received your new ACDelco Real Reward VISA card in the mail, once activated, and destroyed your old AMEX card, you may resume spending your ACDelco Real Reward points!

If you participated in an ACDelco promotion where Real Reward points were awarded, such as the 2011 ACDelco Battery Rebate, any Real Rewards promotion, or have an existing balance on an ACDelco Real Rewards AMEX card this applies to you!  We appreciate your patience and understand during this transition, and are looking forward to a successful year with ACDelco.

TIS/WIP Program

ACDelco is pleased to introduce the TIS/WIP program to Canada. TIS2Web, the next-generation Technical Information System, is web-based so you can always access the most current General Motors vehicle control module calibrations, Tech 2 software updates, Global Diagnostic System 2 and Tech2Win. This program allows Independent Service Centres purchasing an Option 1 (TIS-ALL) TIS 2 Web subscription ($1,395 per year for all GM Tech 2 diagnostic software and calibrations) a chance to earn back some of their subscription fees.

ISCs will have the opportunity to earn up to $1,000 back on their Option 1 (TIS-ALL) subscription fee, based on their annual WIP processed purchases. At the end of the year, qualifying customers will be sent a discount code to be used when re-subscribing the following year for TIS 2 Web ALL Subscription.

The earnbacks are outlined below:

Total Annual ACDelco Purchases

$500.00

$37,500.00

$750.00

$50,000.00

$1,000.00

To qualify, Independent Service Centres must order more than the outlined minimum levels in ACDelco parts through WIP (Web Integrated Parts) in a given calendar year in order to participate in the program.  Independent Service Centres can also combine their purchases from multiple Distributors to count toward this TIS 2 Web ePromotion, as well as all the GM Service Information (eSI) discounts.

To combine multiple accounts, Independent Service Centres simply need to select the “Tools” tab and then select “Account Profile”. Once inside the Account Profile, select “Link Accounts” and enter the applicable WIP account number(s) to be combined. Once this process is complete, it does not need to be repeated for future promotions.

To ensure you can take advantage of this excellent opportunity, each Distributor will need to enroll in the WIP program.

Once enrolled in the WIP program, Independent Service Centres using WIP must click on the TIS 2 Web All Access promotional link within the promotional dashboard to go to the registration site and complete the registration details.

Please Note: It may take overnight for purchases to populate on the progress bar.

GM Service Information (SI)

WIP/WISEConnect users can receive GM Service Information (SI) at no additional charge for the following month once they reach a target of $3,000 in ACDelco purchases, via WIP/WISEConnect in any given month.  Once enrolled, accounts do not have to enroll again!  It's a $1,200 a year value.   If your accounts haven't enrolled yet, they are missing out!  Make sure they enroll today!
